The Nemesis Story ...Nemesis was founded in December 2014, after noticing a gap in the Aberdeen market for online personal training. Although we are Aberdeen based, we have clients as far as Australia, Dubai and Doha.
Nemesis was built on love and passion for the fitness industry. We don't believe our job is just about encouraging clients to lift weights and improve eating habits. It is about empowering our clients, changing their beliefs and mindset, giving them confidence and improving their health, wellbeing and quality of life. Our satisfaction is watching the smile on all our clients faces as after they accomplish something they never thought they would be able to. |

My fitness career kick started back in March 2002, when I was employed as a leisure assistant at my local gym. This lead to me gaining qualifications and experience within the fitness industry and also training to teach exercise classes. After 4 years working full time in fitness I opted for a career change and moved into the Oil Industry where I then worked for the next 9 years. However, my passion for fitness continued on a part time basis and once again I soon started studying, adding more fitness based qualifications to my name. With regards to eating habits I never fully practiced what I preached in the begining. However in 2013 a friend of mine told me she was undertaking a 10 week nutrition plan. This inspired me to fully commit to a workout & nutrition plan for a 10 week period and see what big changes could be achieved in such a small space of time. The results I achieved on my plan were beyond my expectations and proved to me that anything is possible when you fully commit to both nurtrition and exercise and you're consistant throughout. Nutrition and training work hand in hand with one another. I believe both aspects are equally important when looking to improve body composition or simply create a healthier lifestyle. Not long after my 10 week body transformation I found out I was expecting a baby. With a total weight gain of 2 1/2 stone, I gave birth to my son Max on 16th April 2014, through a calm beautiful natural water HypnoBirth. I had already decided I wanted to achieve my pre-baby body back as quickly as possible and had already prepared 2 weeks worth of meals for the freezer ready to kick start the change prior to Max being born. I wanted to be the healthiest i could be, not just for my baby but for my future. The first six weeks post birth I concentrated solely on strengthening pelvic floor muscles and enjoying long pram walks with Max for cardio. It wasnt until 6 weeks post birth that I started my transformation plan. At the end of my 20 week plan I lost a grand total of 15.9inches from various areas, 18.7lbs drop on the scales and 13% body fat loss. I believe the key to success are achieved through commitment, consistancy, determination, a support network in place and most importantly a coach on hand for motivation and down days. I also furthered my knowledge on both training and nutrtion due to having my coach. I will be forever thankful to Harry Ranson for coaching me post birth. Even personal trainers need coaches for accountability. Two sets of eyes are always better than one. |

My fitness journey started on the 23rd of December 2011 (and yes you did hear me right, 2 days away from Christmas!). Our bodies do not know what time, day, week, month or year it is. Any time is a good time to introduce change! I spent that Friday in a bridal room, nestled between my sister, the bride to be and a fellow bridesmaid who were both a lean and toned size 8. This was the day I was measured up for a Size 18 bridesmaid dress - The day I hit rock bottom.
For the last few years I had started noticing changes in my appearance and mindset. The readings on the scales were creeping up along with my dress size and I was undergoing IVF treatment which had affected my confidence and self esteem. I ate for comfort and then spent the rest of the time battling with the reflection in the mirror - it really was a vicious circle! I truely believe change can only be implemented when you reach your lowest point. I did many fad diets and ridiculous training plans in the past but my heart was only half in it, change comes hand in hand with perservearnce, willpower, commitment and of course sustainabilty. Three years on from that day in the changing room, my accomplishments have included:- - Dropping over 20 kilos in weight. - Reducing my bodyfat from 36% to 10.1% (stage conditioned) - Competed in UKBFF Bikini Fitness Scottish Championship 2014 - Competed in UKBFF Body Fitness Midlands Championship 2014 - 1st Place UK Ultimate Physiques Scottish Toned Figure 2015 - 1st Place UK Ultimate Physiques Scottish Overall Female of the show 2015 - Invite to UK Ultimate Physiques British Final 2015 - 1st Place UK Ultimate Physiques British Toned Figure 2015 - Running 10k and raising over £3500 for Aberdeen Fertility & Assisted Reproduction Unit - Northern Elite Fitness Network Ambassador - SFN 'Scotlands Fitness & Nutrition' Exhibition 2015 Ambassador - Fit Boutique Brand Ambassador - Running 1/2 Marathon and raising £1500 for the Lily Foundation in October 2015 The greatest achivement from my change in lifestyle has been the health benefits it has brought - including confidence, energy, positivity and a zest for life again! |
